The Texas Education Agency will reimburse Texas school districts and open enrollment charter schools (local education agencies) for Blended Learning professional development and ongoing support through August 2025, including resources from UTeach Computer Science. Eligible teachers will receive professional development on blended learning strategies, project-based instruction, and either AP CS or Cybersecurity content, along with curricular resources, ongoing teacher support, and platform accounts.
Texas school districts can be fully reimbursed for UTeach CS resources that prepare any educator to teach the following courses:
Steps for Texas School Districts to Get Reimbursement:
- Submit the reimbursement request form for UTeach CS PBL workshops (further below).
- Register each teacher for a course bundle (PD and a 1-year license), then ensure payment (or at least a purchase order) is submitted to UTeach CS at least 5 days before the PD begins.
- Ensure that each teacher fully completes the professional development before August 15, 2025.
Notes: Only public school districts and open enrollment charter schools in Texas are eligible for this reimbursement, and only if they fully complete the outlined steps. Reimbursements are not available for teachers repeating a UTeach CS professional development, private school teachers, non-Texas teachers, or multi-year licenses. UTeach CS will notify TEA to initiate the reimbursement back to districts after the teacher completes PD. TEA will send the reimbursement to the district, not the school. Reimbursements will be approved based on the availability of funds and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
