TEA Blended Learning Reimbursements

The Texas Education Agency will reimburse Texas school districts and open enrollment charter schools (local education agencies) for UTeach Blended Learning professional development through June 2024, including UTeach AP Computer Science professional development.

Follow the steps below to get your UTeach AP Computer Science professional development costs reimbursed by TEA.

Steps for Texas School Districts:

  1. Submit the reimbursement request form for AP CS Professional Development (further below).
  2. Complete the 20-minute District Readiness survey sent by UTeach 5–10 days later (please check your email and your spam folder for the survey from UTeach Professional Development). *This step may be skipped for districts with an active district readiness survey on file with UTeach.
  3. Submit the spreadsheet of teachers interested in AP CS Professional Development reimbursement to UTeach CS so your list can be pre-approved by TEA.
  4. Register each approved teacher for PD and a license. Ensure payment (or at least a purchase order) is submitted to UTeach CS at least five days before the PD begins.
  5. Teachers attend professional development sessions, complete all PD assignments, and then receive a certificate of completion.
  6. After each teacher fully completes the professional development, UTeach CS will notify TEA about their completion status and TEA will begin the reimbursement process for their professional development costs. *License costs will not be reimbursed by TEA.

A district coordinator must fully complete the steps above and each teacher must fully complete the professional development to be eligible for reimbursement of professional development costs. Districts must purchase professional development (reimbursable by TEA) and purchase a license (not reimbursable by TEA).
